About Me
My name is Max Drinkwater-James. I am an aspiring sports journalist with professional experience across broadcast, digital and audio platforms.
During my work placement with the Wales Today team at BBC Cymru Wales, I gained first-hand experience in newsroom operations, broadcast production and live television environments. I supported journalists and producers in delivering daily news content under tight deadlines.
Alongside this, I took part in a placement as a Social Media Intern at Dragons RFC, creating and scheduling content, supporting matchday coverage and contributing to audience engagement strategies within a professional rugby environment.
I also serve as Assistant Podcast Producer for the Rob and Blakey's Commentary Box podcast, where I contribute to planning, production and content development, further strengthening my skills in audio storytelling and sports discussion formats. As a freelance reporter with Ruck.co.uk, I produce written rugby content for a national audience, delivering timely and engaging coverage. With experience across motorsport, football and rugby, I am seeking entry-level opportunities in sports media, broadcast or digital journalism where I can contribute across multiple platforms.
